Richard took up wildlife photography in 2010. Many people have said to Richard the above and to counter this idea he created a talk using images he has taken over the last few years at the amazing Wicken Fen Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire. This talk explores what you could see at Wicken Fen if you take your time and are patient including birds (including seasonal migrants and some rarities), mammals and insects.
Time: 7.30pm
Price: Local group members £1.50, non members £2.50 Including Refreshments

Richard Nicoll wins both Print and DPI Nature sections at CCC Annual Exhibition 2017

Richard Nicoll's images have won 11 awards at the Cambridge Camera Club Annual Exhibition including winning both the Print and DPI Nature sections. An image of a Sparrowhawk in flight over Baker's Fen won Best Nature print and an image of a female Kingfisher with a Common Newt won Best Nature DPI.

Hen Harrier image raises £200 for NT Wicken Fen in memory of Ralph Sargeant

Richard Nicoll donated a limited edition print (1/1) of two male Hen Harrier's interacting over Verrall's Fen in order to raise funds for NT Wicken Fen in memory of Ralph Sargeant who died recently.

Ralph enjoyed seeing the Hen Harrier's in the winter and seemed to know how many had arrived to roost virtually every evening. With a glint in his eye and a smile he always had an interesting story to tell of his times at the Fen. He will be sorely missed.
