Immediate Media have licensed images of a Cuckoo chick ejecting a Reed Warbler egg from its nest along with an image of a Cuckoo flying amongst the reeds at Wicken Fen. These images are all published in the May 2018 edition of the BBC CountryFile magazine.

Title: I never see anything at Wicken Fen...

Richard took up wildlife photography in 2010. Many people have said to Richard the above and to counter this idea he created a talk using images he has taken over the last few years at the amazing Wicken Fen Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire. This talk explores what you could see at Wicken Fen if you take your time and are patient including birds (including seasonal migrants and some rarities), mammals and insects.

Richard Nicoll's image of Common Terns performing part of their pairing has been accepted in the 155th Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography 2017.

Richard Nicoll's image of a pair of Common Tern's fighting whilst a third looks on has been chosen by the Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Councillor Julia Wakelam as the Mayors Choice.

BBC Wildlife Magazine has highlighted the exhibition that Richard Nicoll is holding at the National Trust's Wicken Fen between the 27th and 29th of May 2017. Featuring high quality prints of recent work taken at the reserve.

Richard Nicoll's image of a Barn Owl holding prey in its talons has been Highly Commended at the East Anglia Federation's Annual Exhibition 2017.

Richard Nicoll's image of a Stoat hunting for prey on Burwell Fen (part of the National Trust's Wicken Fen reserve) has been given a Selector's Award at the Royal Photographic Society's East Anglia Region Exhibition 2017.

Cambridge Camera Club are holding their Annual Exhibition between Monday the 24th and Saturday the 29th of April at the Pitt Building, Trumptington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1RP. This is a chance to see a wide range of photography genres and styles representing some of the best in the region.

Richard Nicoll's images have won 11 awards at the Cambridge Camera Club Annual Exhibition including winning both the Print and DPI Nature sections. An image of a Sparrowhawk in flight over Baker's Fen won Best Nature print and an image of a female Kingfisher with a Common Newt won Best Nature DPI.

Country Life Magazine has licensed and published Richard Nicoll's image of a Hobby just about to catch a mayfly in its March 1st, 2017 edition.

Richard Nicoll's images of a Barn Owl carrying prey and of two Common Terns in courtship behaviour have both been Highly Commended at the Royal Photographic Society Nature Group's Annual Exhibition 2017.

Richard Nicoll's photostream on Flickr has now had more than 1 million views. Richard said "A huge thank you to everyone who has thought my images worthy of viewing on the Flickr platform. I am looking forward to another year of sharing some of those magical encounters with nature with everyone."

Richard Nicoll's image of the Reed Warbler feeding a Cuckoo chick has been licensed by the BBC for the Radio 4 The Life Scientific radio programme featuring Prof. Nick Davies's discussion with Jim Al-Khalili.

Richard Nicoll donated a limited edition print (1/1) of two male Hen Harrier's interacting over Verrall's Fen in order to raise funds for NT Wicken Fen in memory of Ralph Sargeant who died recently.

Richard said Ralph enjoyed seeing the Hen Harrier's in the winter and seemed to know how many had arrived to roost virtually every evening. With a glint in his eye and a smile he always had an interesting story to tell of his times at the Fen. He will be sorely missed.
