BirdLife Zürich licenses Cuckoo image

BirdLife Zürich have licensed an image of a Cuckoo chick (Cuculus canorus) attempting to eject a Reed Warbler egg (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) from its nest. The image is to be used as part of a course called "Grundkurs" which once it is available can be accessed here or you can sign up if you are interested in taking the course in the future here.

Richard Nicoll wins Campkins Monochrome award at CCC Annual Exhibition

Richard Nicoll has been awarded the Campkins monochrome award at Cambridge Camera Club's Annual Exhibition (held virtually this year due to restrictions). A composite image showing an F-15 flying over the Mont Blanc massif from Les Gets in France.

Media outlets including the BBC have published images of Marsh Harriers taken by Richard Nicoll. The National Trust's Wicken Fen has had particular success this year with Marsh Harriers breeding very close to areas that pre-lockdown would have many people passing nearby.

Reed Warbler image accepted in 156th Edinburgh Interational

Richard Nicoll's image of a Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) feeding its chicks has been accepted in the 156th Edinburgh Interational Exhibition of Photography 2018. The exhibition is held annually during the Edinburgh International Festival.

Richard Nicoll's image of a swift flying has been used live on air during the BBC's Springwatch programmes broadcast on 29th and 31st May 2018. The image was used to highlight one of the species in decline in the UK.

CAMBRIDGE CAMERA CLUB EXHIBITION 2018

Cambridge Camera Club’s 2018 Exhibition is being held at The Pitt Building in Trumpington Street, Cambridge CB2 1RP. It commences on Monday 30 April and runs until Saturday 5 May. The Exhibition opens on Monday from 1pm to 5pm, and then from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.

The Exhibition includes nearly 250 Prints and 250 Images shown on a widescreen TV, and more than 100 Prints from our Young Photographers competition.

We’d be delighted if you are able to come and see some of the fabulous work produced by our member’s and vote for your favourite Print. Entry is FREE.
